Regarding the installation of the 3rd gen 3SGTE, does anybody know if the body harness is compatable at all with the ST204 chassis without rewiring the harness much? I've given this some thought lately after not finding any search results on the matter....so maybe?? Maybe not?

I think I'm holding off on a swap until I have enough money to buy all the components at once for times sake...but I'd like to have a 3SGTE with a W2A intercooler when I get my clip, be it the 3rd gen or 2nd gen RC. 3rd gen appeals to me because its something different, but this also means that I'd probably have to face alot more unknowns along the way. However, the wiring aspect may be an easier task because of the chassis it came from.

Any knowledge or insight on the wiring is appreciated. wink.gif

I think the 3rd gen harness would be easier to use with the 6th Gen car, but either one will work with enough modification. I just installed a 3rd gen 3S into a 6th gen ST, here are my experiences:

The fuse box portion of the engine harness matched up nearly perfectly with my cars fuse box. Only needed to pull one wire/sensor (radiator fan temp sensor switch) from the ST's wiring to add to the 3S wiring - The ST's temp sensor switch is on the coolant elbow, the 3S's temp sensor switch in the radiator.

I had to move/remove a couple of wires from dash harness connectors to match the JDM harness. 90% of the wires were the same - removed the 2nd O2 sensor wiring (not needed) and a couple other things (I would have to look at my notes). Overall, it was really easy.
