for the past few months i've been playing with the backlighting on the climate contorl unit allot.

i think i found the best way to do it by making your own twist-in LEDs using the toyota bases and autolumination num74 LEDs.

after you insert them in, and get the polarity right the top one needs to be bent to the side to light up the top button row. and the ac light is really too dim (might be able to file down the side of the LED to get it's focus split though). but overall it's a very non-destructive way to do the cc unit and it looks pretty good.

Wait wait wait......i'm so comfused....so if i replace those bulbs in the climate control with 4V blue LED's then i wont need resistors? Sorry I dont understand if you would cure my comfusion that would help alot.... THANKS ALOT

If you follow the original instuctions of this post you buy 3 #74 12v leds and put them in the bulb holders. Then if you want the indicators to be blue as well you use 3mm blue leds to replace the green leds directly soldered to the board. Otherwise, you do what I said and put one led with a resistor to backlight each button and one led to replace each indicator led.
