A while back I had made plans to do this and Kwanza hit me with a few questions that I had to look into such as the crossmember and steering system, well I checked around and the F-Body Camaro seemed to be a good candidate for parts without having to make all of my parts from scratch. Well long story short I picked up a Camaro a couple of weeks ago and also got a running (and smoking) RX-7 FB for good measure (and $400). The Camaro is in to good a shape to be tearing apart so I will use it as a measuring board and see what comes about. It might take me forever but the thing is getting done regardless if I stick to my original parts plan or not.

Because isn't switching an AWD tranny over to RWD problematic (i've been out of the 6gc loop for a few months), besides i'm into that RWD mood i'm currently stripping the 7 down and slapping a 350 into it and i'm putting a supercharged 355 into the Camaro. The rear wouldn't be an issue, i've pretty much decided to use a lot of GT-Four parts and i'm sourcing a wrecked one now. I still have a while left since i'm working on a small budget but the use of GM parts will probably be a solution since they're cheap, pretty strong, and easy to find. I was wanting to use the Getrag but it looks like i'm not up to spending $6000 on a tranny so i'll either go with a T56 and keep power around 500 horses or just source a similar 6 speed. If someone thinks about flaming me over using GM material lets not forget our friends at Toyota decided to badge the Cavalier as a Toyota a while back so it's not like i'm throwing an SRT-4 motor in and using the RWD system from a 300ZX.
