A while back I had made plans to do this and Kwanza hit me with a few questions that I had to look into such as the crossmember and steering system, well I checked around and the F-Body Camaro seemed to be a good candidate for parts without having to make all of my parts from scratch. Well long story short I picked up a Camaro a couple of weeks ago and also got a running (and smoking) RX-7 FB for good measure (and $400). The Camaro is in to good a shape to be tearing apart so I will use it as a measuring board and see what comes about. It might take me forever but the thing is getting done regardless if I stick to my original parts plan or not.

you don't modify the AWD tranny?
you would use a different tranny(probably need to use a supra tranny...) you can find one much cheaper then 6 grand and the ST205 rear end you would need to make mounts for but your MUCH closer off with that then a camero..... |
