i juz installed an air intake on my 97 celica st.....it fits and all but i have one problem, i dunt know where to connect the blue hose....where does it go? i cant find a hole to stick it in lol....someone please HELP!!

Yup, that's the reason. The air inside the fender is cooler than in the engine compartment. That's why the stock "piping" is setup like that.
