Its not just the weight advantage its the big hit the 4 takes in transmission losses, MR2T's win hands down in a straight line come the top of 3rd gear (4 gets the hole shot with a good launch)

The four isn't that much heavier, but the transmission losses are huge. However, I'd suggest the average driver can punt a four down a road faster than a two, and the four will be a hell of a lot easier to drive fast when you start approaching the limits of traction. An MR2 requires an appropriate level of skill. Most people are nowhere near that. Myself included. -------------------- JDM ST205
