she's so going to get scared away if you just give her romantic gifts on her birthday if you haven't BEEN romantic with her.
"eating buddy"??? Dude, you're screwed, if you're too close of a friend it'll make the transition so much more difficult. Oh, and don't spend alot of money... that will also scare her off.
