catalytic converter, catalytic converter Options

im getting my exhaust system done at a shop and someone told me if i take the catalytic converter out you will loose some torque. is this true? if it is then how much horse power would a performance catalytic converter give you.....thanks

Best performance muffler is NO muffler...

Is that entirely true? My celica's muffler fell off, and I tell ya. Its not performing as well as it use to.

That's just in your head. There's no reason it would preform better with a muffler. Mufflers are just there to creat tone, and muffle noise.

Ummm no its not in my head. I've had two cars where I bought with a rusted exhaust and the muffler fell off. Didn't have the funds to fix it so I just had to deal with it till I could get it fixed. It never performed any better. Low end would feel weaker too.
