OK, While tearing the engine down I came acrossed something. While taking the rod caps off I noticed that the #1 and #4 caps where different then the #2 and #3. My question is should they be different, or did someone take my engine apart once and put it back together wrong?
On the connecting rods you have the little notches that the bears that allow them to seat. To my understanding those notches should be facing oppisite ends. They are on the #2-#3 rods. The #1-#4 rods they are facing each other. Is this something Toyota does or did someone put them in wrong? I can post pictures if I am not clear of my question. Thank you. Are you getting fuel pressure? Buy a $30 fuel pressure gauge from Jeg's, T it off between the fuel filter and fuel rail.
Another idea, hook up a volt meter and make sure the fuel pump is working (have you messed with it recently?). Pulls the plugs, check for fuel. Have you tried roll starting it? Once you get it started, figuering out it's issues will be much easier. And the rod caps are supposed to be differently sized like so. -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife
