So I got some new rims, but my rotors are rusted and as ugly as sin. They still work well, is there anything I can do short of replacing them? And anyone know how to replace them, or where to get rear rotors?

I priced out up here in canada. From the toyota dealer rear rotors were only 80cdn each = 60 US. They don't make TRD rear pads anymore, and I could not find any decent rear performance pads, so I just went with toyota again at 68cdn. I could have paid only 65cdn for cheap cheap rotors, however I recomend you never ever buy cheap rotors. If you need to get the parking brake shoes, they are 33cdn per side. I had to buy a fet little parts here and there, in end I blew through almost 500cdn just redoing the rear brakes and parking brake guts.
One word of advice, when working on the parking brake, either take a piture befrore you disassemble or lay all the parts out as you take them off. My first time doing drums took me awhile because I could not remember how everthing went together. |
