Hey guys, my next plan is to turbo charge a 20V 4age, but I still have some questions left un-touched about basic Turbo built engines.
Here they are answer away! 1.) What type of Engine bearing do you guys use for TURBO engines? 2.) What kind of ROD do you use? 3.) Forged pistons are they way to go, but are there others and the best? 4.)What about the crank? Toyotas use steel crank I think! 5.) Duration and Cam lift, Which one works best? 6.) Headgasket? 7.) Oil-Pan, and Misc parts that need attention with Turbo setups. |

By these questions you posted, you pretty much know next to nothing regarding this subject. I suggest you read all the turbo threads in the forums and go to other websites of turbo cars so you can learn, because pretty much all the questions were kind of incorrect in terms of the way you worded them. Like duration and cam lift...why mess with that yet? Unless you REALLY need to touch that, you can skip that part. Depending on your mods, that will dictate what's correct...and usually, engines don't need that area altered unless you're pushing high horsepower or have some kind of problem. Forged pistons...and the best. There is no best out there...it's what you want/need. It's trial and error...there is no perfect recipe for a strong engine. The best built engines eventually fail, because that is just the nature of the beast. And if they don't, it's because they're rebuilt/freshened up after a few passes. Just read the stickies and search thr forums.
