Hi, has anyone taken out the A/C unit and replaced it with an alternator? If so how difficult was this job and how much did it cost?

I do need the extra power. I never use the AC so it is worth me taking it off for a 2nd alternator, I use all the right wire and fuse specs all the way through the car. I am told that its all down to OHMS law. more current equals more volts and more watts. I have changed the alternator but the volts do run down over time.
