i just installed new e-brake shoes in the rear, everything is all set up, except that it doesn't work, if i pull the e brake i can still push my car backwards, something is wrong and i can't figure it out, i've looked through my manual but i still can't figure it out, i adjusted my brake cable at the handle, cause i thought maybe it need to be tighted. but when u pull it up its goes up faily easy, ok when i was looking in my manual there is a spring called the tension spring it holds the two shoes together at the bottom it is near the adjuster , in the book the tension spring is on the back side of the adjuster holding the shoes, i put them on the front side when i did it, but i don't think it makes a difference because there is spots for either front or back but i don't know what the problem could be? could any one help me?

yeh i figured out what was wrong now, what had happened was where the cable comes out behind the shoes, there is a little metal braket that is held in place by 2, 10mm bolts because toyota used cause iron in stead of steel the spring on the end of the cable was coroded two the cast braket therefore almost welding them too eachother, not letting the cable move through the line the way it should, so i ordered 2 sets of cables 1 for each side and a new left rear caliper (old one was always frozen) set me back like 130 $$, its all good though I love my celica biggrin.gif
