[b] kindasad.gif i'm a little bit confused...how does sponsorship work and do you have to pay them back for all the upgrades? I have people[not just any people, but of those who have top noch business in import cars and audio] looking at my car and asking me to let them pimp up my ride & that they can help sponsor me...are there any catch?

Ive read way to many bad things about SCP to take it seriously. What you have to do is apply for it (I've never seen someone turned down) and then you pay an IIRC fee ($88) and then you get a sticker, a list of suppliers and you get supposedly up to 55% off parts you want.

Now basically what they're doing is taking your $88 and giving you a slight discount on parts that they have deals with their "suppliers." So if you add up the # of people who pay $88 in "processing fees" and the amount of discount they actually give people you'll see where the profit is made. I do agree that a few people have recieved heavy discounts, but a business cant scam EVERYONE or word of mouth will get around. And then if you've ever heard there are people they hire to infiltrate forums, such as this, gain the trust of the community and then show support for such things. This is a known strategy.

On top of that, SCP has a banner up that says "2006 Sponsorships Filled." Hmm, interesting, even more so that this site: http://www.teamscp1.com/website/index.asp has popped up at about the same time. SCP means street car performance now.

Honestly, I stand by what I said. I think they are a very slick company who jumped on the tuner sponsorship bandwagon and they're taking alot of people for a ride. Please read as much as you can on the internet before you go and give out your credit card information.
