well about a week ago i hit another car. i was being stupid and not paying attention while in traffic and rolled into a 2002 white corolla while i was going about 5mph. it didnt do any damage to my car but it cracked the top of the corolla bumper on top about 3 inches long. so i said i didnt want to get it fixed through insurance because i dont want to deal with that. and she went and got an estimate and called me back and said it was going to cost $134 to replace the bumper. so i thought that was a great price and was happy. she called back today and said she made a mistake and its going to cost $586 now. now im depressed and mad. she wants to replace the bumper which costs $134 for the bumper and then the rest of the $586 for the painting and installation. that seems a little expensive to me. how much should a new bumper and paint cost?

a new bumper normally goes for around 300bucks just for the part. then she might need a new crash bar, if thats damaged, not to mention paint, removing the old one and installing the new one.
most of us save lots of money by doing stuff like that on our own, but body shops charge for their time. just be happy she isisnt charging you for a rental car while hers is getting fixed. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
