 Braces, any one else got them?? |

ok, so iam 17 and just got braces...
 iam so pissed. most people get them when they are younger like 13 or so. iam the only one in my senior class with them and now they put this metal bar in my mouth and i cant even talk right!!! it sucks!!!! whats sucks the most is that my teeth are stright as can be too!!! only reason i needed them is because one tooth didnt come down when i was younger and they think it will mess up all the other if they dont attach a wire to it and pull it down. iam so pissed off....so...does any one else on here have them???

Got mine on Halloween of 8th grade (I'll never forget the day). My mouth hurt like unbelieveable hell for a few days. It was awkward for a few weeks, then it was fine. Got them off my junior year of high school. I still wear my retainer at nights (going on six years of doing that) because if I keep it off for a few days and put it back on, I can feel the slight shift and tension built up againt the retainer from my teeth.
I had a permanent metal retainer mounted behind my lower teeth after they got off. It was very unintrusive until it broke a few months ago and I ripped it out with a pair of pliers. I went to the orthodontist and he said it'd be fine to keep it out... he cleaned up the mess I made, and alls good. |
