PSI?, BOOST question Options

I had a question, ive been watching and listenting to all the tuners talk about the power increase per psi on their turbo'd cars...but how many hp's does the 3sgte make per pound of boost? i know its somewhere on here but i cant find it. someone told me for every psi its like 5 hp? different people tell me different things but then again, they dont have the almighty 3SGTE!

and if the stock 3sgte is 225hp at stock boost with a fmic, how much boost can you turn it up to safely? (lagos, tweak anybody?)

WOW....Thats alot! so a stock 3sgte runs about 160 whp as stated but thats on stock boost? and if you increase the boost (takign appropriate measures) you would gain about 40 hp @ the wheels? that sounds pretty good! i didnt know the stock 3sgte runs only 160whp. alot of people say that they beat the swapped out civics regularly but i heard the h22's and b16's are like 180hp i think? how can we regularly beat lighter cars that are 180 hp on a basic 3sgte swap with a FMIC?

no no no .. here is the deal. usdm motors are slower by at least 20hp to the wheels. jdm ones are faster because of a different ecu and a ceramic turbo. so sometimes you can see a bone stock mr2, with a restrictive exhaust, tiny stock side mount IC and running only 8 psi do some pathetic number like 160hp (at the wheels, as stated in that primer).

jdm swaps in a celica will give you a rough ball park of 200hp AT THE WHEELS. most people get 20-30hp above that with a good intercooler, upgraded downpipe, exhaust, and a boost controller.

now here is something almost everyone forgets about. the power you will get from a swap, is just the starting point. the motor has so much potential for upgrades. it really opens you up to a whole new world. a simple turbo upgrade can change the car in a major way.

LAGOS! I was hoping you would show up and school me! i didnt know that about the ceramic turbo. i looked at the link and was like wait a minute...ONLY 160? i almost was dismayed....so when i get the swap, OBVIOUSLY JDM is the way to go, im going to ask dr tweak about that when he moves here to the carolinas.
oh by the way. that 200hp at the wheels is with stock boost @ what like 10psi? so if youre running at 14psi thats about an additional 40hp plus the extra 20-30 u told me for a good ic, and piping equaling to about 260 right?
