 engine knocking..then it died, what happened here? |

so im driving along..and the engine was making a knocking/ticking type of sound which i've never heard before...so i started takin it slow and everything...then im gettin off the hwy..and the car dies...i try startin it and it starts up knocks alot shaking the whole car and dies again..what do you think is wrong w/the engine? im thinkin a rod or piston or something..but not sure..i bet it could be alot?

same thing happened to me...worst day of my life december 8 2003. you threw a rod as stated earlier. and if you think your oil light was gonna come on yer wrong....mine didnt...
 good luck though i know a place you can get an engine pretty cheap. called ny block exchange in asheville nc got my 7a for like 800 bucks
