Is it necessary that you clean your air intake? How does one go about doing that? Thanks all.

ok that k&n filter stuff is what makes the filter purple lookin u have to clean it with soap and water then let it air dry, then put the filter stuff on it. if ya dont do it that way ur filter will become cloged. and useless.
