Is it necessary that you clean your air intake? How does one go about doing that? Thanks all.

Paper filters do not appreciate being wetted down. If you have a paper filter, which is the usual type, compressed air will do fine.
K&N and other cotton filters require a cleaner that removes the oil and then a re-oiling (oil is what actually catches the smaller particulate matter in a cotton filter). The kits come with both, and instructions on how to properly care for your cotton fibre filter. For your intake, a basic wipe down with soap and water will do. Carb cleaner is a good idea for the throttle body intake. |
