Hi
Tried searching but too many thread on teins and can't find any information. Just got Teins installed in my car by a shop. Everything is great and handles awesome but I have a small problem. When I go over bumps, I get a clunk sound from the fronts. Sounds as though the springs are not sitting properly ... THis only happens when I go over bumps, no sound when accelerating etc. Shop advised me to go back to them and they will take a look but do you guys have any ideas? Front shocks are fine. Back shocks are new kybs . Couldnt change the front shocks because I had the sealed units ![]() |

Went back to the shop. jacked each side up. Tried moving the springs but they were captive and not move-able which was good. However, the springs were looser on the left side which is the side that is having the problems.
Shop person came to the conclusion that the front shock is on the way out.... Reasoning was the noise only appeared on large bumps, not on corners or normal driving. Therefore it isnt something lose. He mentioned something about the springs "just" sitting there(captive) or something. I thought the teins wouldnt have been a problem with its 1.5inch drop. The stupid thing is, The kyb dealer here says that he does not have the celica sealed struts even though I gave him the right part numbers. I will continue to search for it or worse come to worse, find another celica with the normal struts and use that. |
