 what do i do?, squeaky belt? |

when i take off from stop signs and lights my car squeaks like crazy for a couple seconds then it stops. is this just the belt that needs to be replaced? or does it need to be tightened? if it needs to be replaced how much does this belt cost? i recently replaced the alternator(september 05) and i should have replace the belt then but i didnt. if you have any input on this please let me know.
