It, by all means, is a policy problem. There were contributions from several members and much more detailed instructions than what was posted in the new thread.

Manny: I think the policy should be to say "no" when an OP asks that a thread be deleted. Locked, yes. Deleted, no - particularly where there is worthy information included. I was not saying that the policy was followed incorrectly.
