again, you seem to be dissmising the point that chan ASKED for the post to be deleted.
whoever contributed whatever at that point became irrelevent, bacause the OP asked for his thread to be deleted.
how are we wrong for doing what the OP asked us to do?

I think the policy should be to say "no" when an OP asks that a thread be deleted. Locked, yes. Deleted, no - particularly where there is worthy information included. I was not saying that the policy was followed incorrectly. I was giving my opinion that the policy of acquiescing to OP requests to delete threads should be changed.
