Hello everyone. My girlfriend has a 94 toyota celica st manual 5 spd. It has 208,XXX miles on it! Nothing has ever been done to the car. She has run into a deer on the right side and a mailbox on the left. This has damaged the headlight assemblies. So I am replacing those. Also the clutch is starting to slip (no kidding after all those miles) so I am replacing that too. Also I intend to do an engine rebuild. Is this feasible or is an engine swap the better way to go? I found the engine swap forum but didn't see anything about engine rebuilds. Alright, so if anyone has anything useful (I found the tech manual phone number and will call them tomorrow) about my intended jobs I would appreciate the help. I consider myself to be a journeyman mechanic and have a good grasp on engine fundamentals and mechanical theory. Thank you.

Welcome. Those 94's are begining to have problems. I've got mine mostly restored or mint condition. Most get tired of the 7afe, the ST motor. Since it's your gf car, sometimes women don't need the power. Us guys do need the power though. The 4age is a very good option for swapping. There are other swaps avalible, but that's the cheapest/best for the ST models. You can search around here for other options. Don't get sucked into the 3sgte crowd without understand some of the other availible swaps first. Let me know if you any more questions.
