hey guys, i just wanted to piggyback off of mike's very useful thread about paintjobs. i ve been meaning to post this question, as im sure many others have.
questions to ask the shop... 1. what are good paint brands? 2. are there any specific painting techniques you should request at a paint shop? 3. what different types of painting styles are there available? it would be nice for everyone to post comments or questions they would ask before getting their car paitned along with answers if possible! it would be a great help! by the way...does anyone know what integrated gloss is? my friend says its just enamel with the gloss included in it. is that any good? or should i just look to pay extra for more clear coat? thanx! --------------------  QUOTE (Galcobar @ Oct 15, 2008 - 2:44 AM)  You want power but have no money. HOK (House of Kolor), PPG...these are my two favorites. as for different types.....you have one step - acrylic urothane (sp), basically base no clear. and then you have the typical base coat clear coat system which takes about 3-4 step paint system.
this is the primer,base,flake or pearl (optional), and clear |
