hey guys, i just wanted to piggyback off of mike's very useful thread about paintjobs. i ve been meaning to post this question, as im sure many others have.
questions to ask the shop...

1. what are good paint brands?
2. are there any specific painting techniques you should request at a paint shop?
3. what different types of painting styles are there available?

it would be nice for everyone to post comments or questions they would ask before getting their car paitned along with answers if possible! it would be a great help!

by the way...does anyone know what integrated gloss is? my friend says its just enamel with the gloss included in it. is that any good? or should i just look to pay extra for more clear coat?

thanx!

ah! i remember seeing you car on other posts! very nice! see my thing about paint jobs is, while im not a cheap skate, i do understand that knicks and scratches occur (mine is a daily driver) and I DESPERATELY need a paint job, but i dont want to pay 1,000$ for a paint job just to get it scratched later. being careful is a big part of preventing this but i still dont think that much money for a paint job isnt worth it. my brother knows a painter at a place called econo and they said they would paint my car (2 toned top black bottom eletric pearl green by dupont paint) for like $480 it so happens that they painted my roomies SUV and it looks pretty nice, but people say i shouldnt trust a 500 dollar paint job (not that i care) im more worried about covering up the ugly peeling clear coat i have now a.s.a.p.
