well after getting hit and run my idea for the beams motor went down the drain, i figred while its in the shop i might as wel get it swapped w/ the 4age 20 valve silvertop, anyways my question is how much do these swaps tend to run? and where can i find a 4age silvertop engine?oh yeah and time is a problem too the swap cant any longer than a couple of weeks.I basically just want to know whatt i would need?(clip or engine better?dont see the point in the clip since its a celica not a corolla) for the swap and what all neeeds to be done.i loooked around but couldnt seem to find anything:( anyways thanks in advance

QUOTE(Kwanza26 @ Mar 22, 2006 - 1:23 AM) I on the other hand think this swap is common enough amougst the Corolla folk that you don't *need* to buy a clip... but it's nice to have one. The coil and ignitor can be sourced from different cars... along with all of the needed plugs for wiring. The only real parts you need, is the engine itself with neccesary attachments (dizzy, manifolds, etc)... and the ecu. yeah this is what i was hoping, i can probably have more time like maybe a few more weeks but it is my daily driver so i cant have it being out more than month, and as for the 7age route, i looked into that and i kind of wasent feeling it, ym current motor was swapped in w/ 80k and now i have no idea how much it has..more than likely around 85-87, but thanks for all your help ![]() what are common problems with running this setup? i read that i could use my stock st tranny w/ the 4a-ge, this is true right? but yeah liek i said before thnaks |
