I was lurking over at supraforums.com and they had a thread going about the day you bought your ride, and it got me thinking back...
It was September, still hot as could be, Tennessee summers. I was just back from school on labor day weekend when I got the call. My celi had come in from Wisconsin. We went down to the dealership, and I drove her for the first time, and from that moment, I knew she was going to be mine. I fell in love with everything about that car from the very moment I slid into the driver's seat. She was so smooth. Everything about her just flowed. She was going to be mine. I almost laughed in an old woman's face when she walked up and started inspecting "my" car. She was aparently shopping, and stopped to inspect "my" car!?? Right then and there, my bond officially formed. She had made some comment to her husband about not liking the door style (no frame around the top) and I calmly told her "You needant concern yourself. I just bought this car." After the wrangling and paperwork, I walked outside and there she was, freshly washed, shiny as could be, and 100% mine. The first thing I did was to take her out to the lake and stare out over the water. Just stare. With my sunroof open, and the starlight beaming in. Funny thing is, I still get that feeling every time I slip into her in the morning to drive to school. Every time I see her across the parking lot, every time I wash her. There is nothing like the celica. They say that a man's first love is his car. While I don't believe that (forgive me celi!) She's still my favorite thing in all the world. I LOVE MY CELICA!!!! |

When i was 10, my aunt bought a 1995 coupe GT automatic Fresh off the lot. I absolutely loved the car. I would ride with her in it every chance i got, it was my dream car. Forget the lambo's, i wanted a 6gc. (course at that time there wasnt a 7gc). Anywayz....fast forward 6 years. I still loved my aunts car, but i had grown up a little and didnt ride with her that much anymore. I was 16 and needed a car, after searching for a few months, my aunt called me up one day and said that she would sell me her celica for $4000. I flashbacked to how much i loved it in the beginning and told her it was sold. I got a few mods done to it, wheels, system, etc. But then One day about a year after i bought it, i was ran off the road by an S-10 into a feild and fence. The front end did a nose dive and i flipped end over end 3 times. Needless to say my car was totaled but i was fine.
I loved my first 6th gen. 4 years and 2 other 6th gens later, here i am. With my favorite. A 1995 GT 5 speed vert. I just bought this one, so i havent really got to mod it up yet, but i just joined a club named "Redline Customs" and the project is lifting. There's just nothing like a 6th gen. -------------------- ![]() Cuz Thats How Us Country Boyz Roll Growing up racing motocross, i learned one thing..."Always wear clean underwear, you never know when the Paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off of you" |
