Every time i post somthing about my ST people pick me apart about it, people are always saying that the ST is so slow, and they act like theres nothing you can do to make it fast. its not the fastest car in the world but neither is your 3sgte swap celica! i posted earlier in a forum about track times and posted that my ST can run a 16.1 1/4 @86mph and NOBODY believed it. they kept saying that a stock ST couldn't ever run a 16 sec. 1/4,, well mine ISN'T STOCK!! is there anybody out there that believes me,, this is a celica club, you guys should be happy when you hear of someone that has put together a decently fast ST! not pick them apart.

QUOTE(sinner96ST @ Mar 26, 2006 - 9:42 PM) QUOTE(brianforster @ Mar 26, 2006 - 3:38 PM) on the contrary, id be willing to say that the power is the least important option of the st vs gt choice. the gt is just a nicer car overall, each of those "little dealer options" goes a long way when combined to create a more comfortable car. sitting in an st and sitting in a gt might still be sitting in two celicas, but its definitly not the same to me, and ive sat in both. List the glaring differences between the two, because I fail to really see any. I've sat in both as well, and, it's a clone of my ST with alloy wheels and rear disc brakes. I have power everything, leather interior, and all the extra crap on mine, it makes little difference which model you own. he was saying the "small dealer options" mean nothing im saying that most st's dont come with all of that stuff. and im sorry, i just cannot take a car seriously if it has rear drums, its kind of like a girl with one boob wanting to be a porn star. QUOTE(97lestyousay @ Mar 26, 2006 - 9:56 PM) ![]() I drove mid 70s early 80s cars, so even the stock STs 105 hp is good compared to a 75 Chevy Nova with a 5.0 liter producing the same amount stock. were not saying the st is a bad car, just that the gt is better in every single way. |

QUOTE he was saying the "small dealer options" mean nothing Yes, I did, and so far, you've mentioned a light around the keyring making the GT "better in every way" than the ST? QUOTE and im sorry, i just cannot take a car seriously if it has rear drums, its kind of like a girl with one boob wanting to be a porn star. were not saying the st is a bad car, just that the gt is better in every single way. And I cant take someone seriously who believes that : 20 horsepower & torque rear disc brakes in a car with less than 130hp a light around the keyring rear windshield wiper and fog lights in later years is a huge leap from an ST. I've been a member of this site since it was created, and was on celica.net, so i've heard a lot. And i've seen this ST vs GT debate talked in to the ground, the bottom line is - it matters not what you get, it's the Celica part that counts.
