So, after much argueing and much debate, my parents decided its time for me 2 get a new car b4 i go 2 school. They want me 2 get somethin newer, within the last 3 or 4 years. So, ive been searching around with what i could get, what options i could get, what i need, what i want..etc.
So, ive figured, i want somethin small, light, fun as hell to drive, good on gas, and maybe turbo or supercharged. Ive always wanted a turbo car. Any ways, so with my new job and with what my car has been appraised for, ive narrowed it down to 5 cars. So, im thinking of MKIV Golf GTI 1.8T (1999.5-2005), 2DR Echo Hatchback 3DR with a TRD superchager...figure ill buy the echo and then buy the supercharger afterwards ![]() 2006 Yaris RS 3DR ![]() 2003 Subaru WRX non STI ![]() Matrix XRS 6spd with the factory Aero kit EDIT: Forgot to add 2000-2005 RSX Type-S ![]() *if you vote for RSX, just add it in your reply* So, what do you think?? QUOTE(Bigmeanbulldog55 @ Mar 26, 2006 - 9:19 PM) QUOTE(creamed_corn @ Mar 26, 2006 - 6:06 PM) So it'd be cheaper to spend thousands of dollars on a brand new car than shelling out the occasional hundred or so for a repair on a car that's already really reliable? I think you need to put this into perspective, dude. Your celica is waaaaay cooler than any car on that list. I think if the man can get a new car, need deserves the freedom to ditch the Celica. If you like it so much, you buy it off him. These Celica's aren't the greatest things in the world. If I had the chance to trade my Celica for any car on that list I would. They aren't bad cars, but when you get anything with high miles and what not, it will cause you problems. I know for me, it's more worth it to have something I don't have to mess with much. That's why I got rid of my rx-7 and started driving the Celica full time. Mine may be in better shape than Valo's, but it doesn't matter if it is or not. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, get the Echo. exactly the reasoning behind why im gettin a newer car. My car is great for bootin around in within the city and every thing..but isnt the greatest thing on gas. Like i went up 2 my cottage this summer in it for the first time. It took 3/4 of a tank to get there, and its approximatly the same distance away from my house as to where im moving in sept. On the other hand, 2 summers ago when i was with my ex..she had an RSX Permium auto(but i was drivin in trip tronic) and we headed up 2 my cottage, went into town every day (about 10 min down the road), and went up to this place called Sudbury witch is an hour away from the road coming out of my cottage..aka like another hour n 20 min, all on 1 tank. That only cost her like $20 at the time when gas was cheap, to fill. My car, because of gas prices here costs $40+ to fill if im almost empty. And im running through a tank every week n a half or so. Plus, ive had to spend alot of $ lately on my car to get it where it is now, and there r still things that need fixing. I wanted to get somethin that im not gonna have to dump like $400 into every month to get it to be decent. So my choises right now are either sell the celica and get a newer car..or try and fight with my parents untill they say "ok, lets get every thing on the celica done" and keep it. But its gonna cost like another $2000 or more to get every thing fixed. |
