well after getting hit and run my idea for the beams motor went down the drain, i figred while its in the shop i might as wel get it swapped w/ the 4age 20 valve silvertop, anyways my question is how much do these swaps tend to run? and where can i find a 4age silvertop engine?oh yeah and time is a problem too the swap cant any longer than a couple of weeks.I basically just want to know whatt i would need?(clip or engine better?dont see the point in the clip since its a celica not a corolla) for the swap and what all neeeds to be done.i loooked around but couldnt seem to find anything:( anyways thanks in advance

you mean the 4agze. anywho... yeah, you have to rev higher to feel the torque with a 4age. but i don't think it accelerates slower than the 7afe in the lower rpm. i haven't heard anyone complain after replacing their 110 hp engine with a 160 hp one.

QUOTE(j0e_p3t @ Mar 28, 2006 - 7:36 PM) you mean the 4agze. anywho... yeah, you have to rev higher to feel the torque with a 4age. but i don't think it accelerates slower than the 7afe in the lower rpm. i haven't heard anyone complain after replacing their 110 hp engine with a 160 hp one. Yeah, the 4agze was the supercharged one - thanks! I've read the "complaints" on a 4age forrum (something like club4age.com?). Most those guys were interested in speed and racing, so they gladly gave up "daily driving" feel for MUCH better acceleration. I probably should have been more clear - I think the 4age swap sounds great - I've even considered it myself (I have a ST, so would be an easy swap) for when my 1.8L gives out ![]() You could put the 4age head on your 7afe block and have the best of both worlds. Probably as powerful as you can get with a natrually aspired 1.8L ![]() |
