Your mounts and suspension play a big role in wheel hop and your tire pressure has a small roll too. When the psi in your tires is less, and you dump the clutch, some stress will be absorbed by the side walls in your tires when they flex. When your tires have more pressure they have less room to flex. Stock motor mounts will flex alot more than aftermarket mounts. These 2 things will both help eliminate wheel hop. Regardless of how much horsepower you have, wheel hop is HORRIBLE, and at some point, something WILL break. It's either gonna be something with an axle or the tranny, whatever is your weakest link. Even 100hp is a substantial amount when talking about drivetrain components breaking. I've seen about 5 axles break at the track from someone wheel hopping.
