I like faster cars, but I hate doing engine swaps. So when I do one, I want it to last. I'm assuming that (like every other turbo'd engine) the 3S-GTE does not have the longevity of the naturally aspired 3S-GE.
Is this a good assumption? How many miles could I expect to get out of each engine? Also, I will only be using motors produced in the US, as I live in California where they frown on JDM motors. |

Also, I will only be using motors produced in the US, as I live in California where they frown on JDM motors. think of it this way. there are USDM alltracs and turbo mr2s out there with boosted 100-200,000miles on them. so the motor can last as long as u take care of it. now comes the real truth. any motor you buy, 3sGE or 3sGTE will be something out of a junk yard or a wrecked car. its going to be coming out of a car that is considered totally worthless to its last owner and has been striped down for parts. there is a good chance that you can get a either motor with a blown head gasket, or other major problems. its a coin toss. it dosnt matter if u go turbo or NA. good luck trying to find a USDM version of either motor. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
