According to this web site, looks like there were some extra special 3sgte engines made with special pistons / witercooled intercooler etc. They have the front clip for sale:

some call it cheating some call it genious
 even the president of wrc said he had never seen anything so ingenious in his career. but at any rate, didnt they cheat after they wont the championships? only their points from that year were removed, not the two championships won by the 3sgte |
