So, this mornin at like..10am, im tryin 2 sleep in, i hear the phone ring. So someone picks up, and then i hear my sis come 2 my room. She opens the door and throws the phone at me and says "Here, its Sarah(girlfriend)". So i pick it up and she automaticly starts talkin..b4 i could say hello. so all i hear is "OMG!, my uncle said one of his friends has a 1983 toyota Coupe forsale, its only got like 100xxxkm on it, 5 speed, all original, in good condition, and shez sellin it for $100, but since its my uncles best friend, she said she will give it to me for free!! OMG!!!, do you know what a toyota coupe is??"...so i finaly get to say hi, so i think about what came in a coupe back then. so i said "Well, it could be a celica, a celicasupra, corrolla, trecel, starlet, camry..could be alot of things" So she gets frusterated cuz she wanted 2 know what it was. So i remembered that back in the summer when we went to take her uncle's vette out of storage, the woman who kept it for him had an old celica in her driveway, so i said "could it maybe be the woman who was takin care of ur uncles vette's celica?? cuz remember she had one in her drive way?" so she goes and asks her dad and was like "YES!!! THATS IT!!!" So now, i have my celica, my gf is gonna have her celica, and my lil cousin is about to buy a 4th gen. So this celica my gf is gonna buy needs some work, but nothing 2 majour. a lil bit of body work, a splash of paint, maybe some new rubber, cleanin a few peices up, gonna give her the exhaust system i had on my old supra and maybe borrow it a few times 2 go drifting again Ill post picks when we go 2 pick it up on tuesday or wensday.

So we went to check it out today. We get to the place, and first thing i notice is all of the bumpers on the sides are ripped off. The owner said they were all rotten. So, we go 2 start it up, battery is dead. Go to pop the hood and find out that the part where the hood release cabel attaches to the handel is broken. So we finaly get it open, there sits a 22RE..its soooo mint. So we give it a boost, 2 trys and she finaly bumps over. Sounds sooo nice. So we all pile into it to take a test drive (me, gf, gf's mom, and her godfather). So her godfather, cuz hez all "i know what im doing when it comes 2 cars", decides to take it out first. So we needed to back it out. So he first puts it into first gear and rolls it forwards, then second, then 5th...then i have 2 tell him where reverse is..lol So we get goin, it seemed to be pretty good. So we take it for a drive, first corner we hit, all we hear is water coming from the trunk area. So after my gf's mom and i took it for a drive we brought it back to the house 2 see what the sound was. So we pop the hatch, open her up..i notice part of the gasket is ripped nicely. So her godfather pulls out the blankets, etc from the trunk, lifts up the rotted carpet, lifts up the wooden cover over the spare, sure enough..the entire spare tire well, was filled to the top with water. So we grabbed a bucket and some rubber gloves, i pulled the drain plug and let it all run out. So we found that it was coming in that one section where the gasket was ripped. So we cut the mouldy carpet out, drained the water out, took every thing out of the trunk and left it. So, i took a look at the body etc. Its got a solid rear axel (wicked), body only has some rust on the hatch below the keyhole, then it has some around the antenna base, gas door and rear passanger wheel well, but the best part, its all surface. Paint bubbeled a bit, but no pittin. So, we talked every thing over, and come saturday the celi is gonna be parked at my gf's place. So saturday (weather permiting), im gonna b sittin in her driveway with a few sanding disks, my drill, my dust mask, a few cans of primer and a tarp. Gonna take care of the rust first, prime it to make sure it wont get any worse, then we r gonna throw a tarp over the top of the car so that it wont leak any more untill we get the hatch gasket and the sunroof fixed/a new gasket. The sunroof works nicely, but the gasket is about 2 b shot and its got some nice rust comin in on the bottom side of it. So, we have a slight project ahead of us, but its gonna b fun. Plus, my gf wants to learn how 2 work on cars, so its gonna b REALLY fun..lol
