Back in the month of september, I was running low boost (break-in period), with my new management system (autronic smc and cdi r500). At only 8 lbs of boost the car was running without any problem except for the underhood too high temperature cause of the manifold.
![]() Then , in the month of october after two weeks without running, the car refuse to start and after 4 or 5 try with the starter ; crickkkkkkkk. ![]() The engine has a major water ingestion after two rainy weeks (without running) and cause the no1 rod to broke. I'm gooing now to rebuild the engine with one 4agze new piston and a set of forged rods. I suspect the water was entering by the intercooler piping even with the huge t-clamp ! In the future i'll start the car every day and I'll cover my car in the rainy days . ![]() ![]() ![]() Freshly resurfaced head ; ![]() I plan to use 4agze piston, pauter rod , cometic mls head gasket, total seal rings and finally boost to 15-16 lbs . I'll keep you updated ! Claude |

not from driving his car was sitting
while your driving water shouldn't get into the intercooling system unless you have fualty clamps/couplers or a hole (this equals boost leak) if its supposed to be air tight hows water goin to get in ![]() This post has been edited by playr158: Apr 5, 2006 - 1:07 PM |
