Ok, time to start picking tires for the new shoes. Of course, size is going to be 215/35-18. What we're looking for is outstanding dry traction, as good as it gets for the tire series wet traction, and good cornering abilities. Now.......

Originally we were looking at the Yokohama Parada Spec-2. But, the lack of wet traction turned us off to those. While perusing around, I happened to stumble across the following tire:

Linky To Tire -- Now, don't let the fact that it's a General tire scare you off. It's rated #1 in category just ahead of the BFG g-Force T/A KDW2, which is our other choice right now at almost twice the price.

The General gives up a little cornering and turn-in stability to the g-Force, but makes up for it with wet traction and ride noise/comfort.

So......$86 each for the General Exclaim UHP, or $159 each for the KDW2's. For a comparison LOOK HERE.

Since yesterday I have my new rims (yeah) With Toyo Proxes T1-R around it. All i can say is what a great tyre. Dry and Wet are both great plus cornering is superd. Almost reconsidering getting my teins smile.gif

@Fastbird: What you said about the F1's on your transam. This may sound strange but in some cases a tire that scores good on one car can be less at another. And your transam is a different kind of car, RWD and more weight in it. Those are factors that also should be accounted for.

My best bet are either the Toyo Proxes T1-R or the Eagle F1's for our Celica's. With the Eagle F1 on top, but only because it lasts longer then the T1-R. Read some reviews where both tyres were compared.
