In the midst of replacing my half-shafts, I decieded to resurface my rotors. The guy at Ohio Automotive mic-ed em and told they were shot, so now I need to pick up some new rotors. My question is: Do I need to replace my pads too? They look like they still have plenty or meat left on them, as they were just replaced this past winter. Will my new rotors take on the same grooves that were on the last ones? Also, do i really need to use that pad coating that reduces squeels?

If the rotor has grooves in it then that usualy means that the pads are so worn that they are rubbing metal to metal. If the barakes sqeak realy bad when stopping then this is guaranteed. As mosty brake shops will recomend to replace the pads with the rotors. But if there is still a lot of pad left and the surface is flat to the rotor then it isn't needed.
