My engine makes a wierd knocking noise whenever i go over 3000 rpm. I think it's just a bearing but i dont know how to fix it, and i really hope its not a rod because then im really SOL. Thanks for your help.

QUOTE(Bitter @ Apr 14, 2006 - 7:04 AM) a sound like a wheel bearing that comes from the engine when parked with the engine running could be a bad belt tensioner. one of my dads old fords did that, it eventually turned into a squeel. see if you can narrow down where the noise is coming from in the engine bay. I'm starting to hear a squeel kinda too now... But mine knocking noise is ony when i first turn it on (it knocks exactly 3 times) and when i go over (or come close to) 3000 rpm. And when it happened and i freaked and checked the engine, my oil was bone dry. I've sence discovered that my older car burns a little oil and i've never made that mistake again. -------------------- You only live once...
