My buddy got pulled over in his s2000 last week in Glendale for loud exhaust (hks highpower). He was going 15mph tops in a construction zone(becuase of mean dips and stuff) and a bike cop pulled him over. At that speed thist car is NOT loud at all. He made him pop his hood. Luckly he had street legal AEM and DC headers. Now he has an appointment with the state ref tommow so we took it off this weekend.

This got me wondering, what if i were to get pulled over, what could happen, what will happen. I know some cops are more lenient than others but i would hate to be in that situation. Does anyone know what the laws are here in california or any state for that matter? or know where to get them? has this happened to anyone, i hope not but i would like hear experienceces if you have them. belongs in OT, but my brother had a Scoobyworld Afterburner Vortex exhaust on his Subaru Legacy. He got pulled over for his being loud. Of course his entire exhaust system was gutted (borla exhaust manifold, Stromung cat delete). They tested the exhaust and came up with I believe 125 (or maybe 150) Db. It would set off alarms a block away. You could hear it across town. The best part is, is that he would leave at like 4 in the morning, and would park underneath my bedroom window.... He had to put his cat back on and get a silencer.
