Since my intake sits literally on the plastic under-guard stuff underneath the car I decided it might be wise to get an intake bypass.. that and lowering the car soon..
Anyways, so I get home from work (11:30) and find the package on the kitchen table. Who wants to wait? Not me! So I go out to the garage and start disassembling the intake. I tossed the coupler from the TB to the intake arm, because it was ripped real good. Then I switched over the coupler from the middle of the arm to the top. When I took the coupler off the lower connection I found that there was a little bump in the metal, which wouldn't let the bypass go on, so I took a razor and shaved off a little of the rubber on the inner part of the bypass. I then put the bypass onto the lower arm and then tried to connect the two, which turned out to be impossible. With my intake how it is (see picture) The Distributor and the battery make a bottleneck in the passage of the intake, and guess what? The new filter needs to be right there. Couldn't do it. Tried running it above them, but hood barely wouldn't close. So now I am sitting in my garage. Pissed. I didn't want to go buy a pipe extension, and I wanted to install it...but no way to fit it.... WAIT! Why don't I move the battery over slightly and then try! SUCCESS! Tight fit, but its together. I didn't have my camera with me, but if anyone (I doubt) is interested in them, then I guess I will go take some. Until then, I am tired and I am going to pass out! ![]() EDIT: ha, you guys might want the picture I refer to.. i agree with switching to a short or medium ram, as nice as cold air intakes sound the throttle response is too long and if it rains allot the air must be somewhat cool as is. altho i do like your setup and my c-one tower would look awesome in the bay!
