QUOTE(Mr_chOps @ Apr 22, 2006 - 12:46 PM) sup guys, i'm kinda getting into the paintballing world and i'm thinking about buying my own gun. do any of you guys no if a spyder electra ACS is a pretty good gun for a newb like me? or maybe something along the lines of a tippmann a-5 or 98 custom? thanks. from my semi-professional help. playing on a tournament speedball team, i can tell you a few things. main thing is, you get what you pay for. my first paintball marker was a spyder. and i constantly had problems with it breaking and catching balls and jamming the marker. It really depends on how serious your goign to get into the sport. i ended up, after numerous paintball markers, with a smart parts impulse. and it was the best marker i ever owned. although it was heaveier than most speed ball markers, it was reliable. If your willing to spend alittle more, go fora smart parts impulse, or even a shocker. an impulse will run you roughly 300 at base, but with all the upgrades i had put on mine it ended up at over 1100. its a great starters marker and also a great professionals too! If you are looking at the spyder, or tippman. reliabiltiy, go tippman, you will have far less pain and suffering with that marker than with a spyder. spyders are very unrelible from my experience upgrades, i dont think you can ever really "walk the trigger" on a tippman, but you can get mods for it for automatic and burst shots, and reactive triggers. but you wont be able to walk it because of its design. well yeah. hope i helped |
