Long story short- Grandma cant drive anymore, so shes looking to get rid of her car. Dad passed up on the oppurtunity, so It's been offered to me now by him. I could prolly get this car for like 2 grand, but I personally dont find this car interesting (its an auto) or classy because its emrald green w. a beige interior, and it has some hail damage. Its a 98 accord LX 4 door, but the kicker is it only has about 8,XXX miles on it. yes, only eight thousand... what would you guys do? I can by the car, but selling it for profit is out of the question... buy it and put storage insurance on it, dump the celi and roll in this, store the celi, ect? give me some suggestions

the more i think about this- the more I think the celi will get dumped or put into the garage for the time being... If I were to DD this accord, what exactly would you guys do to it to improve performance, audio, styling, ect... ? I dont have much knowlege of this car, but does anybody know the correct 16 and 17 inch wheel and tire size for this car to keep the speedo good? Also, car audio wise, its going to need a cd player and most likely some better speakers (I like the pioneer deck in my celi with the stock 6-speaker setup plenty), so what would you throw in (looking for just a cheap deck and some decent bass response and crisp mid to high end)... Is it worth throwing a new exhaust and intake onto her?

How long has it been since it was driven?

From my experience, a car that has sat for a while and then sold to be a DD does not like being driven so much.

My dad got a 96 Corsica with 30K on it, and had been sitting for a year. The guy had his son go start it up and let it run and then shut it off about once a week. My dad started driving it about 50-75 miles a day and the car had a fit. Blew a head gasket. Blew a radiator, timing belt. Popped tire, thermostat and a few other things.

Depending on how long it has been sitting I would consider using it as a DD and making the Celi a project.

This is the only concern of mine. I know its bad to let cars sit, and this car has only made small in city round trips close to it's entire life...
