3S-GTE into SS-III Options

Hi, does anyone know of any issues trying to swap a mr2 turbo engine into the st202 SS-III, any issue with using the SS-III's gearbox? The engine in question is a rev 1 mr2 turbo engine, i think these have tvis, would that be ok as long as i use the correct ecu?

mostly because getting further power from the 3s-gte is a peice of cake compared to the beams, I intend to track the car, and will have the beams to fall back on, alternativly i could probably sell it to cover the cost of the conversion and have change. I'm aiming for about 240-260bhp, getting that out of the beams would easily cost twice as much.

Then stick with the n/a engine. The $ you'll have to spend getting the 3SGTE up to spec and in the car could easily go towards some decent upgrades for the BEAMS. Plus you'll have no torque steer issues, much less problems with traction and something that is potentially more reliable.
I'm ditching a 2.0 turbo motor in favour of a 3SGE in my FWD tarmac rally car because it makes more sense. And I'm willing to bet with 230bhp on tap, that it'll eat a lot of other FWD turbo cars
People tend to become fixated by the word 'turbo' - thinking that is the answer to everything. Plus it has more bragging power down the pub with your mates.
