I've just had the head gasket replaced on my 5sfe but now the engine is noisy in idle and the revs vary from 1600-2000rpm! It's too high and I've gotta take it back, but it would be good to know what the rpms are supposed to be on the 5sfe in neutral. Can anyone help?

it's normal dude....the car is suppose to idle high when you first start it, the computer is set this way to warm up the engine, and when it finally warms up a bit, it'll slowly drop the rpms, its normal.....does it more often when you start it in the cold (in the morning, winter, etc etc) come up here in the midwest, all you southern boys will probably be covered in 10 layers of clothes or something
