So I've got a really easy question for the mechanics out there. How necessary is it to have that small rubber seal that goes around the timing belt cover? Mine got killed when I took the cover off, and I'm wondering if it's worth paying for, and waiting 4 days to get a new one, or if I can just go without it.

Any mechanic worth his salt will change the water pump and tensioner when swapping a cam belt.
