I've serached this forum but can't seem to find any main topic about whether a stock 2nd gen 3sgte needs a turbo timer.
Anyone know if it is really necessary? I don't have one right now so i always let the engine run b4 i turn it off to let cool down for a couple of minutes. Do i really have to do this? or does the 2nd gen have some device to let the oil flow round for a little while |

but why did stock turbo cars not come with one? -------------------- Journal for my 3SGTE swap
Posting and asking qns here for my 3SGTE swap Regular on ToyotaTuners, no long on TN Lurker on celictech for my 3SGTE swap Trying to sell stuff on alltrac.net Time will tell that it is a mistake to replace the F-14 Tomcat with the F-18 Super Hornet as the carriers first line of defense. |

QUOTE(Aaagogo @ May 4, 2006 - 9:40 AM) good qn though, i know what a turbo timer is and what is does and y it is a must for a A?A i/c, but why did stock turbo cars not come with one? Because they annoy most people who want to just turn their car off. Aside from that, if your turbo is watercooled, a cool down period is not really needed - at least not as much. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |
