my 5sfte is running rich at idle. I have to take out 30% of fuel with my safc in order to get the 13-14.7 ish a/f ratio.

set up:
255 lph pump
440cc injectors
everything else is stock

What could be causing the problem????

could having the engine retared to much at idle be the cause of the ecu not being able to adjust to a rich mixture?????

why are you so worried about being rich at idle?

no only as i left off the gas. like either when reving it a little or when coming to a stop with the car rolling in nuetral as the engine slows to ilde.

This happens less when i take out the 30% of fuel and more if i dont and keep the car running rich.

ahhh thats better, sounds more familiar now...lol yea, i pretty much have the same thing, although i just went for a ride, and pulled a little more fuel betweek 1k-2500rpm, max is 15% @ 1000rpm and basicly eliminated it...do you notice that its almost "controlable"? meaning, that holding the throttle barely open at low speeds then letting off causes it more than any other time?
ive noticed that with mine, and can cause it to burp more or less, depending on my mood that day..lol
IMO its one of those trade off things....we're not running an "optimal" setup, so being a little rich down low is an effect of needing the fuel up top.
thats somthing i think the emanage ultimate will really help me with.
