I saw some of celicas that members have and some don't have the shield infront of their header . Do u need it because mine is rusty and I either need to take it off or paint it? Does it damage your engine if u don't have it because I want it off?

On stock Celicas, there is usually a heat shield over the exhaust manifold. It's just to protect the wires and other engine parts from the massive amount of heat from the exhaust. I don't think you really need it though, if you were to buy aftermarket headers you'd be operating without a heat shield then as well. I had taken mine off and now with headers, still don't have one and nothing's melted yet. =)
