my 5sfte is running rich at idle. I have to take out 30% of fuel with my safc in order to get the 13-14.7 ish a/f ratio.
set up: 255 lph pump 440cc injectors everything else is stock What could be causing the problem???? could having the engine retared to much at idle be the cause of the ecu not being able to adjust to a rich mixture????? This post has been edited by urbandork: May 15, 2006 - 12:15 AM |

QUOTE(presure2 @ May 18, 2006 - 9:44 PM) with the stock map, it basicly wont run yea art, thats the 315s, untuned. Quick story: When I dynoed my car, some of you may remember that it slid off the dyno and ruined the front right tire. The shop agreed to replace my tire and not charge me for the dyno session. I gave them the rim, put the donut on and picked up the tire and rim a couple days later. When I went to pick it up, they had just put a C5 vette with a newly installed procharger on the rollers so I decided to stick around and watch what kind of number it would make. The tuner told me that the owner was coming over to be there for the tuning session. He said, well I will just start without him (At the time, I thought, I wouldn't like it if the guy started tuning on my car if I said I wanted to be there when it was tuned but continued to observe). On the first pull, the guy took the engine all the way to redline without watching the a/f and the car put down about 550 whp. Then, the guy got out of the car and started pushing buttons on the computer and he said "oh, that went lean". I asked what the a/f got up to and he said 22! The owner shows up and the tuner says to him: We did a test pull and the car is a little lean so we will need to add some fuel before we go further. He never mentions the figure or how close he came to popping the engine. It was right then that I decided that I would never take my car back there. Moral of the story: be present during tuning and always monitor your a/f ratios and be prepared to cut the run if necessary.
